does anyone know a way to permanently shut it off? It appears I have to hit F7 all the time. Does this keypad light up? Thanks.

Anyone want to buy it. Practically brand new. Acer sent it to me in late 2010. Hardly used. Took it away from wife and boxed it. Let me know

If you go to Control Panel, Mouse, Device Settings there's an option in there to disable the touchpad. I haven't tried it but it might work, you could always try it (I'm assuming you have the Synaptics drivers installed). The standard keyboard doesn't light up and I'm not sure if you can replace it with one that does but there is an 8930G Owners Lounge thread and I'm sure someone in there would be able to give you an authoritative answer on that one.
