Hi, I just purchased an Acer 8943G-9319 from amazon.com. It came with 4Gb of RAM pre-installed. I purchased another 8Gb (OCZ 2x4Gb) figuring I could use the two new sticks plus the original 2x2 pair to upgrade to 12Gb. But when I install RAM in all 4 slots, the BIOS only recognizes one of the two channels. So if I install two 4Gb sticks in the original slots, and the 2Gb sticks in the open slots, the BIOS (and Windows 7) reports only 6Gb of RAM in the machine. If I leave the original 2Gb sticks in their original configuration and add the 4Gb sticks in the open slots...same thing. I contacted Acer tech support on this, but they were unhelpful (unless I wanted to pay them). Has anyone had this problem or have any idea what's going on? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

What windows 7 exactly do you have???

EDIT. No wait. I doubt you have a starter one. Try to put 2 and 4 GB sticks to original 2 slots and 2 and 4 GB sticks to another 2 slots. Perhaps memory channel wants to work with the same amount of memory. 1 channel = 2x2 GB, and 2-nd channel = 4x4GB.
Also check every single memory stick installed to see if computer starts with every single memory.
Try to put only 2*4 GB sticks to have 8 GB what will be.
