I'm just wondering if AAD comes with the Cyberlink H.264 codec - the one that enables GPU decoding. Because if it does, I have a reason to install that thing back on my system.
Here's how you can check. Open up Windows Media Player. Right-click on the top bar, go to Help, then About Windows Media Player. Click the Technical Support Information link in that box, and your Internet browser will open with an HTML file with all your codecs. Save a copy of that HTML, upload it somewhere like RapidShare/MegaUpload, and post the link here.
I'll report back with my findings - if it means we don't need to buy CoreAVC or another decoder, I'm all for it.
-
I don't know if it does, but I use CCCP ( http://www.cccp-project.net/) which I know includes an H.264 decoder.
-
I use CCCP too, but AFAIK it doesn't have GPU decoding capabilities. That means that my CPU gets the full load when decoding video, while my GPU just sits there twiddling its thumbs.
-
Ah, I see why you want the Cyberlink H.264 codec now. My mistake!
-
I've had a look on mine, which is very close to a factory fresh software configuration at the moment.
There's no mention of H264 in the video codecs (or anywhere else). -
Nothing from Cyberlink? That's odd, considering it's required for Blu-ray playback.
-
Ahhhh...that's why my Bluray sample disc won't play!
-
Use CoreAVC with hardware decoding.

Off-topic: what did you used for overclocking the GPU? For me, no software worked yet.
-
Latest version of RivaTuner worked, but only for the shaders when I unlinked their clocks from the core.
Core kept going down by 1 MHz every time I adjusted shaders, while memory wouldn't budge. -
for me i just flash it. core to 625mhz, 450mem, 1250shader..quite smooth. <80
-
Flashing it using NiBiTor?
That never occurred to me, but then again, my CPU's still got that whole heating issue - I'd rather not risk my GPU. -
cannot use nibitor since I have 64bit.
