I am just evaluating my options for a notebook. So i was wondering could anybody here suggest a better laptop to me which gives a better bang for the buck than an Acer Aspire 1690. (1692WLMi for the far east market and 1694WLMi for the US and Canada)
    its specs are
1.73 Centrino with 2 Mb cache
    512 Mb DDR ram
    128mb Mobility Radeon x700.
    80Gb HDD
Bluetooth and the wifi that comes with centrino
    4-in one card reader
dvd writer (dont remeber was it dvd plus or minus)

and it is for about $1400 USD.

For this price (if it contains all the taxes), this laptop looks OK for me. Of course, much depends of battery life, HDD RPM and screen quality, but it's already a bang for the buck.
