First off, I love my 9300, but I feel....It can do more.

I upgraded the RAM, and I am looking for some technical resources, i.e. service manual, any idea where I can get one? Acer told me no :(

It has a bluetooth button, and its missing a module, any idea where I could get one? I would rather have it built in rather than plug in a USB Bluetooth adapter every time I setup my laptop.

Also the Laptop says a max of 384MB of memory, however it only allows 256MB, do I need a BIOS upgrade or something? Im running BIOS Version 1.14. Thanks in advance.

The service manual is for acer engineers only; which explains why you got a "no" from acer; however there is always stuff like this floating around in various places on the web.

Very few of these unit come with the bluetooth; its usually added in by the reseller as an "extra". You can get an internal bluetooth unit and cable from acer but this price will be inflated; as far as i know this may be the only place you'll be able to get an internal one from.

You dont mention exactly your ram configuration; this is what your graphic memory depends on. More RAM = More video memory.

I have bios version 1.19 and havent noticed any difference in the unit at all; although the readme for the BIOS just Revision-G CPU support.

I checked these places, and I couldn't find anything in terms of a service manual.

    Heres, my specs,

    Aspire 9300-3716
    Turion MK-36
    120GB HD
    2GB DDR
    Nvidia Go 6100

I'm running Bios Version 1.17, just upgraded from 1.14, I didn't see anything different either.

i dont understand why you can select a higher amount of video memory; i do think that the unit is slightly underpowered to be using this much memory effectively anyway. Also, the more memory you allocate to video the more memory bandwidth for the CPU you lose, its gonna be a trade off of performance when you set up your video memory.

Well, currently it is set at 256MB, and I have about 1.4GB free when Windows is running, It gets good performance in terms of games such as HL2, CSS, Etc. It runs at about 20-30 fps. However it does not really utilitze all the ram when running these games, this leaves some free to play with. I don't see the option of upping the Video RAM to 384 though, I guess its a typo. As it has not been in any of the BIOS updates I've seen anyways.

if it states turbo chace on the unit it will automatically allocate as much memory as it needs up to a limit of 400mb. Basically you'll be setting the amount of memory the unit is guaranteed to have, and depending on how much you set that to it can increase up to 400mb... i dunno why they just cant let you decide how much memory it can use rather than let the figure change of its own accord.

    Ah I see, Thanks.

I'll see what I can do about tracking down a Bluetooth Module, I have a few friends who run Computer Fix it shops, its possible they may be able to help me out. I'll give your idea a try, and see what they can do, and at the minimum see if I can get a price on a bluetooth module out of acer at a minimum.

You'll be needing a bluetooth module P/N - 54.TB2V1.001 and a cable to go with it; however i dont know the part number for the bluetooth cable.
