Hi. I have this laptop, and one problem. It has ATI mobility X1300 in it, and after booting it works fine for a couple of minutes, and thet just freeze.

I have removed cover from back, and noticed that there isn't fan on GPU heatpipe, and that is overheating (finger test :) ), even with no applicatons running. When I use compressed air to cool heatpipe, it works fine, even with games running.

I presume that engineers wanted for fresh air to flow to the CPU fan through the GPU heatpipe, but after initial blow, CPU fan stops blowing, and GPU temp go crazy.

I suppose that GPU is broken, but I was wondering is there any way to fix this problem? I have tried to find some space to add any kind of fan, but there isn't any. Also, GPU is soldered to the board, so there isn't possibility of changing it easy.

I added a pisture, so you could see how it looks like.

That seems like a really bad design fault. asking the fan to do alot of work in cooling, and then placing the graphics heatsink in an awkward position, seems a little irresponsible, if you ask me. I would ask Acer o have a look at it, if your still under warranty, and if not, then you may want to flash the BIOS and update it. Sometimes, newer BIOS can get the fan to work properly, like they were intended to.

I've already done that, but with no success. The answer i've got in Acer service is that this isn't unknown situation to them, and that I need to change whole board! Of course, i'm not crazy to pay price for which I almost could buy new laptop, so I need to figure it by myself.
