I just got a refurbished ACER 5002WLMi laptop. I am very happy with it except with one hitch. The screen reflects so much that I can almost use it as a mirror. The colors are deep and bright and it looks gorgeous, except it reflects too much. Is this something in my laptop only or is it everyone? The screen is supposed to be 15.4" WXGA ACER crystalbright TFT LCD screen.
I had a regular Hp laptop before this one and it didn't reflect this much.

CrystalBrite screens are coated to make the colors much more vibrant and sharper, but as you have noticed they are much more reflective. All glossy screens are like this. The HP you had was probably a regular matte screen which is why there wan't as much glare.

Reflection is one of the disadvantages of these enhanced glossy screens. But still they offer much better colors than regular matte finish screens. So its not a fault with your screen but all of enhanced screens have that effect.

What is posted is right, all glossy screens are like that. You can buy a screen protector to cover the screen - it should take away the glare and make it more managable.

Thanks for the replies. I just wasn't sure.
Any ideas where I can purchase the screen protector? i looked around but could only find pda screen protectors? Any place where I can buy them for the widescreen LCD?
