I think we tried a lot of things so that we can connect wirelessly this new laptop(vista) but the odd thing it will connect with my desk top upstairs (XP). We tried connecting the cable, disabling firewall but still no success. But when my friend brought it to his house apparently it connects with ?linksys router! Any help will be much appreciated, tnx

also try a scan and see if the laptop is seeing your router.
have you got the mac address filter on,on the router?
after the scan try and connect if you have ant security on in the router. have the key handy.
try turning off AD HOC on the PC so the laptop only see's the router.
do you know your ssid ?

connection problems are not always the laptop.
    reboot your modem/router

    good luck
