I dislike bloatware and especially dislike 45GB of my HD being used as a System Restore partition. So I clean installed XP Pro recovering the 45GB space.

The only problem was Audio which clicked and popped. I tried every which way to solve this issue for a few weeks. I can't take the credit as someone on this forum solved the problem. Sorry username unknown.
Also I noticed a gradual slow down of the Laptop.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know the procedure.

I downloaded ALL drivers and applications from the ACER site and burned to CD (I only installed what I deemed necessary at this time).
Change boot order i.e. DVD/CD Drive first and install XP as normal setting up partitions the way you wish.
