    What? It's huge 3DMark06 score

Mine never pass 4200 mark (4160 Marks with 572:472 GPU:MEM)

BTW is it driver level OC or V-BIOS flash?Any volt modd?

PS:Mine is Vista not XP .With XP we can expect 200+ more marks

Which tool used for this OC?

    Is it a BIOS flash?

My driver is 169.04 and i have only changed GPU speed. I'm using Ntune for this. No it's not a BIOS Flash

4813? What an outrageous amount... I wouldn't be suprised if it was a DDR3 version of the 8600m gt

well, was just expressing an exaggerated opinion, of course Acer wouldn't provide us anymore than an underclocked 8600m gt, but seriously, Vista's score on the GPU is quite high, 5.7, I barely scrape pass 5.0 (a 5.3) after overclocking (615/1300/510)

did he really did the 3d mark 06 under 1200*800? I mean the first pic actually shows the resolution, but the second pic kinda eclipsed the resolution settings, the top right corner shows his core and memory clock (650/532).

The difference between mine and his isn't really huge, therefore I can't help but express my doubt

    I'm getting that score on 1024res in 1280 4200-4300

can get higher but it will produce artifacts and very unstable.. u have the demo of 3dmark or full version? :)

he´s tested with a resolution of 1280 x 800. hence the high scores.

this is indeed not very compareable, since the standard test we all do is 1280x1024.

subtract a few hundred points and you have the results for the standard test the other guys made.

i dont do the test in 1280x1024, i do it in 1280x800.. thats more a standard test if u ask me since u have to test native resolutions..
seems bit pointless to test in 1280x1024

besides the other guys dont get that score in 1280x800 either, u get that score in 1024x..

hmm, but if all of you guys run tests in different resolutions, your results and your posts
about "new great unbelievable" 3dmark06 score are quite pointless.

don´t get me wrong, i don´t mean to teach or something like that.
i´m just pointing that the benchmark results under such conditions are not good for a comparision.

the idea is to compare the systems. and since the vast majority of benchmarks are run
at 1280x1024 you will of course always have better results than a benchmark under real conditions.

maybe you guys should post the used resolution , and make an own table with results. but you can´t
compare your results with the published ones from the notebook reviewers.

    best

do you have an external monitor that is capable of displaying the 1280x1024 ?

if you do, you should use that one for 3dmark testing.

    I've overclocked my 5920G 302G16 with the 8600M GT 512M videocard.
Before it i've changed the thermal interface between the videochip and copper plate to increase the effectiveness of heat transmission.
    The clocks: 630/1400/950
My result in 3DMark06 is: 5311

I've been used RivaTuner 2.06. In that utility i set such clocks: 635 MHz(core)
1425(Shader domain...1425 is the maximum value that i could to set) and the memory worked on 480MHz(960 MHz effective)
The real clocks may be higher (look on the RivaTuner monitoring on my screenshot)

open up nvidia panel and set 3dsettings to optimise for performance instead of quality and u will get a higher score.

also it matters if u have the 256 or 512mb version. when nivdia settings to max the 256 version cannot score that high at a 1280x800 resolution.

    Hi Guys,

Any IDEA why i cannot keep the overclock settings in Riva Tuner when i'm in battery mode? When i plug in, my settings are saved.
Also y i'm not able to change Lower 3d settings?

is there any noticable improvements in 171.16? I currently use 169.28.

    Thanks.
