    Hi,

first of all I am new to the forum and I'm Spanish, so sorry for my English.

My problem is that my graphics card in my laptop ACER 5920g broke through ebay and bought in EBAY the ATI HD 3650 card. Reading the forum I found that the HD 3650 card is compatible with my laptop 5920g. Today I have received the card, I inserted and you see the ACER logo. To my surprise, when I get into the BIOS or after 5-10 seconds the screen freezes and if you touch a button to start ringing.

Win7 can not even see the logo screen, so the screen stays black.

You do not know if anyone had the same experience and I pudéis help.

    I give you more information:

    GPU: ATI RADEON HD3650 DDR3 512 MB
    BIOS: V1.3813
    VGA BIOS: 010.088.000.010.028990

    Thanks. ;)

It sounds like your GPU overheats. You could try Copper Mod, but you'll need 16x16x0,9mm sized copper shim and MX-2 thermal paste, it's easier for application, but you could use Arctic Silver 5, as in the guide. BTW Are you sure that your HD3650 is 512MB DDR3?

    Thanks for responding.
I have certified that the card is an ATI HD 3650. What I have not tried is to place the copper plate between the heatsink and the GPU. What I have used is the thermal paste, but distinct from ARCTIC SILVER 5. It will be the next to try.

Is it normal for 2 seconds to warm up as a card? I can not even put your finger on it.

Can be a problem with the HD3650 VBIOS? Any tutorial that you can see how to update VBIOS?

I have the exact same problem. Same laptop, same card (but DDR2).

Also the same VGA Bios number.

Laptop starts up and I can see the Acer screen, the Win logo appears briefly then everything goes black. Tried loading Ubuntu on a USB and Win7 safe mode. Same story.

I am upgrading from an Nvidia 8600m GS.

I suspect I need to upgrade the bios, or is it overheating in 2 seconds?

If there is a problem with the vbios should the win7 logo screen even be displayed?
