    I opened my acer laptop and noticed under the hood by the memory it had a slot it says mini2 by it. Does anybody know whats its for? I bought a intel 310 80GB SSD mini pci-e sata drive and it fits perfect but my laptop doesnt detect it in the bios and i have the latest bios version 1.20. Please help

    Its a mini pci express slot. Likely for a TV tuner.

    For an SSD to work you need to have a SATA controller hooked up to it and yours does not (not can you mod it to).

    The only option would be to find an SSD with a pci-express to sata controller built in but this is unlikely.
