    @nawfel
    Main BIOS is marked U56 on the motherboard. I don't have photos of the motherboard that show enough details to find it for you but it's marked so you will be able to find it yourself.

    hi
    thank you for your reply

    i found the u56 chip. it has a sticker on it. it's located on the flip side of the motherboard.

    i confused it with u16 which apparantly is the EC KBC bios.

    just to make sure. the kbc bios remains untouched after a bad bios update under widows?? (from 1.09 to 1.28)
    the laptop powers on normally. but nothing happens. black screen and no activity.

    thanks

    Yes U16 is KBS BIOS but that's not the one you should be concerned with, so it's U 56 only for you.

    Well I won't be any help as far as soldiering is concerned. I have never done this before and I'm not sure I would start by trying on my own laptop. If I were you I would re-purpose an old mobo or some other piece of broken electronics like an old router or a modem and get some training before you move to the actual motherboard.
