I had one. It's a great notebook for the money. The 6-cell battery gave me nearly 9 hours with wifi and msn on. The keys and trackpad are a bit cramped compared to other models of the same size. You'll also find multi tasking to be sluggish and video playback at 720p will be a challenge. I was able to get it to play smoothly but I had to test a lot of codecs first. As a basic portable computer it's excellent. I ended up sizing up 1 inch to the 1810TZ and it's a world of difference, this one feels just as quick as my much larger, more powerful notebook.

As long as you're prepared for the netbook experience and can deal with the cramped typing/touchpad conditions it should be fine for the money. I thought the extra $200 was well spent on the 1810TZ though, it's just as portable and offers a superior experience.

I'd look for an Acer 1410 with the SU2300: should be cheap and nearly as powerfull as the 1810T(Z) with SU4100 or SU7300, at least for doing internet, listening to music, watch movies etc..

Of course, if you can afford it, just go for the 1810T(Z), with better processor and a bigger battery.
