    Hey,

I have an Acer Aspire E1-531; the original charger stopped working so I replaced it with a universal charger. This worked until the universal charger stopped working and the computer completely died. The power button used to flash blue but no longer does.

I decided to take a look at the DC Jack to determine the cause. Not only did it dislodge, one of the wires was broken. So, I ordered a replacement for my model specifically and assumed this would fix my power dilemma. It did not.

It is no longer flashing blue, it is not powering on WITH or WITHOUT the battery. Could my problem be the universal charger? I've ordered an Acer Adapter just in case but I want to see if I'm missing any other details or possibilities.

    Thanks,
    Melissa

It doesn't seem to be the universal charger - if it had the right parameters to begin with and it used to work (and apparently it did) it's rather unlikely that it would be the culprit.
