Why do you have a cracked copy of windows xp running on your laptop? Didn't your pc come with a license for windows xp to begin with? If so use it, and use the right model!

As far as obtaining the needed windows disks you are looking for "OEM" (Origional Equipment Manufacturer) disks. Going to any brick and mortar store will have them because they reinstall xp and fix problems like yours daily.

If you have a legal copy of windows xp home / windows xp pro / windows xp media center 205 go to the store and ask them to burn you a cd-r of the needed operating sytem for your laptop. Legally under the DMCA you are freely able to have this and have a backup for "personal use", not to mention you allready own a license for that media.

If they give it to you great, if not then you are S.O.L unless you talk to acer and get some restore disks, or talk to me in a PM and I might have some more solutions for you.

Either way you need to get out of your current situation with your cracked copy of xp. That is just not good practice to begin with (it's illegal) and you also won't be having any windows updates for your pc which are critical.

Get started and ask the store manager for the disk (even bring a black cd-r and the laptop with you) and go from there.
