The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    ACER Applications and high CPU usage

    Warning to all. If you happen to run an application that interacts with the system on a deep level and uses .Net it is possible that you may get high CPU usage due.

    This happened to me with ACER's power management and gravisense apps running and me running Otakusoftware's TopDesk application. Here is the thread link at Otaku http://www.otakusoftware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1392#1392

    Seems ACER apps may not be written as well as they should. This also may explain why people often has issues with their apps.

    I will be contacting ACER about this and will keep the board informed.
