    Hello everyone!

So, is there any way to control the fan speed of this lap top?
I have tried speedfan, rivatuner, even tried the undervolting option with RMClock (no success - the CPU was running at the lowest voltage already).

One option did present some signs of activity - Acer Asprie One (!) Fan Control utility. However, it only switched off the fan completely. Besides that, it was quite unstable and sometimes forgot to turn the fan back on after the threshold of temperature was crossed again.

By the way: computer doesn't get hot at all. The feel is quite cool, as Speedfan utility indicates these temperatures:

    GPU: 41C
    HD0: 36C
    Temp1: 54C
    Core0: 30C
    Core1: 27C

It appears that I love this lap top almost for everything, except its loud operating sound.

    I am running at:
    ACER 5739G
    Vista 32 bit,
    Chipset: Intel PM45
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T6600
    GPU: GeForce GT 130M

If other Aspire One tools work, SmartFan will work, too. SmartFan is customizable, but you have to find out the right speed values yourself. Search on NBR for SmartFan and if you have further questions, just ask :)

Hello. I have the same laptop: ACER Aspire 5739G. And my fan is also very loud.

I downloaded and installed SmartFan but I can't get the program to work properly. It is probably the speed values that are wrong.
How can i find the right values?
    Thanks for help :)

    Hi there!
Me too, I've got an Acer Aspire 5739g.
I just downloaded SpeedFan, it shows my CPU and GPU temperatures but I haven't got any info about fan speeds!
I also donwloaded AA1 Fan control, which is for Aspire One. It works but - I dunno why - when it is executed, CPU usage increases a lot (over 50%), so it gets fastly hot!

Can anyone tell me how can I manage to run speedfan properly? Faminor, how did you manage to do that?
    Tnx a lot!

I have an Acer 5739g, and my fan is horrendously loud while playing games. I downloaded the AA1 FanControl program and it shows that my CPU heats up to around 80-90 degrees celsius while I'm playing games. My CPU usually hangs around 50-60 degrees when I'm not doing anything intensive. Is my fan broken or do I need to replace my heatsink? What are your guys' average temperatures?

After applying the latest Nvidia beta drivers, I feel like my GPU was damaged because any game I play for over 10 minutes experiences serious frame rate issues. I've reformatted my computer and rolled back to the Acer drivers but the issues are still occurring. Before installing the beta drivers, my fan was still incredibly noisy and my CPU temperatures were still in the 70-80C range during gaming, but there was no noticeable decrease in performance. Do you think my heatsink/fan needs to replaced or is gaming no longer feasible for this laptop?

Hey I have the same model as you, the aspire 5739G w/ a GT 130M
Right now its running @ 47C for the CPU and 42C for the GPU just using firefox and thunderbird. I like to play aion sometimes and have noticed it can get pretty hot (reached 92C once on CPU but usually 80-86C and on the GPU it was 70-80C) I tried running a few other games to test the temp. Doom3 it was CPU 72C GPU 68C. Medieval II total war it was about the same. I think with newer games it tends to get a lot hotter. I'm not really sure if this is a good or bad thing though, cause my cpu fan tends to pulsate as well when its been on for a while. It kinda worries me but I'm not really sure what to do exactly. I might try re-seating the heatsink with some arcticsilver5 cause thats pretty easy to do.

Not sure what to say about your GPU, can you order an exact replacement? Where'd you buy from? I got my acer from newegg.com

    Ok so update:

I took the back panel off, spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get to the cpu and then gave up. I put thermal paste on the gpu unit though. Does anyone know how I can get to the cpu?

You have to go into Acer Erecovery to create them as well as for the drivers. I hope you have DVD's since I remember it asking for 13 CD's or 3 DVD's just for the OS/apps.

The least they could have done is included a couple of DVD's so you do not spend all that time creating these disks.

Oh I see that on their website now. Do I have to have this disc to reformat and reinstall vista or is it saved on the backup part of the HDD?

One more question: does anyone have a list of the most updated drivers for this model? I upgraded to windows7 using a torrent a few months ago and I find it odd that some of the drivers (like the cpu) are running on a version from 2006. Also, do you think a bios update is necessary?
