    ACER Aspire 7530 HDMI sound problem

    hi im trying to setup my uncles new laptop but i couldnt get any sound to output over hdmi

    i disabled the nvidia thing and realtek from the sound properties in control panel then couldnt find how ot make them reappear i managed to uninstall the realtek then restart and it installed it again so i got sound on the laptop

    but the nvidia hdmi still hasnt reappeared

    should i uninstall it too and hope it will reinstall it automatically

    after that how do i make it output sound through the hdmi to his tv

    any info would be appreciated

    Unfortunately when you connect your laptop with HDMI the sound output doesn't switch to HDMI cable. The way to do it, is Control Panel, Sound and then pick the realtek HDMI output sound as default output device. You will see there that the speakers are the default device.
    The nvidia software has nothing to do with the sound through the HDMI but only with the picture.

    thanks for the reply i thought that the nvida hdmi sound output in the sound applet controlled it no ?

    i will give it a try its actually my uncles laptop i use a latitude e6500 so im not familiar with acers although its a decent machine for the money once i sort the hdmi sound for him il be happy as i have everything else setup for him
