I'm having issues with overheating, when playing games, and when generally browsing the web for too long. I have reason to believe that the fan isnt working because A.) I cant feel any hot air or air period coming out of the exhaust vent.
and B.) My laptop is really hot for no reason! Now using speed fan my current temp for the core is 83c. Now i suspect I could reset the settings for the fan in bios? but the "Phoenix Secure Core" bios dont have any options that do anything useful besides boot order and security for booting. I'm not very experienced in bios and would have no idea on how to update them or anything like flashing them or anything. Any ideas on what I can do outside of sending the laptop back to Acer (or Newegg since i have a warranty but acers return time is supposedly better)

Not sure if this would help at all. Would rather ask someone else who has more experience.

Edit 2: 15 minutes later the temp is now at 88-89c

UPDATE: Fan seems to be workin now, after trying a ton of reboots and acer one speed control and messing with some setting in speedfan. the fan is indeed working. now it's just not working that fast and is keeping the core around 59-60C which is good, as to why it didnt work 30 mins ago, I don't know

The bearing could perhaps be going or excessive dust build up.

Have you tried cleaning the fan / heat exchanger? Every month or so you should turn off the machine and blow air in through the exhaust to knock out all the dust. Do it outside, it can be quite messy if it's been a while since you did it. If it's gotten really bad you might have to open up the machine to get the heat exchanger clean enough to work well.
