I recently pruchased an Acer Extensa 4420 and converted from VISTA to XP. I am having problems with installing the video driver. I down loaded the video driver from ACER's web site but it will not install. I had to down load the wireless driver from Dell and I was wondering if there was a similar trick for the video driver. Thanks for you help.

what gpu do you have, is it the ati x1250. If it is, had this issue with someone the other day, what you will need to do is download these files:

Then in device manager, go to the device, click update driver, the point windows to the relevant folder (i think the folders are USA, Rest of World, Japan and x64). Hopefully this should then work.
If it isn't the x1250, can you post back what it is, then we'll help you get what you need. -
Thanks Bangert. I have the x1250 and I downloaded the file but it wouldn't install. I am gettting a message that says hardware was not installed because wizard couldn't find the necessary software. Please let me know if you have anyother suggestions.

It's old, but I got the ATI Omega driver to work fine on a 4420-5963 that I downgraded to XP Pro.
