I wonder How is the battery live w/ new 4501 acer. I know that HPz3000 and compaqx1000 which are competing for my money can survive 3.5 (but the add says 5 hours)

for what it's worth, i own an aspire 2012 wlmi, and i can easily get over 4 hours unplugged using productivity programs, browsing the internet etc. Using using the optical drive for anything seems to be a bit of a drain, but i don't have any official data on that for you. Hope this is at least somewhat helpful, as the specs between the 4501 and 2012 are virtually identicle as far as battery life is concerned, save for the fact the 4501 has a dothan cpu which if anything, would increase the battery life as it is more power friendly.

Look at the Aspire 2025 series. It's build on a X100o mobo with minor alteration. the only limitation is only WXGA screen is available but you get a MR9700 128MB inplace of the MR9200.
