First off, there's no need to have your CAPS LOCK on for your entire message. Also, I deleted your second post about this exact same topic. You can use the "Edit" feature, the little pencil & pad located above your message. I also edited your Subject to include the correct model number.

Second, It's possible you have a virus in your system. This kinda sounds like the Blaster Worm or similar viruses. It infects all non-protected 2K & XP systems. You can download a utility from Symantec that will remove the virus. Also, having SP1 installed will also eliminate the problem. Make sure you install an updated virus scan in your system before reconnecting to the internet.

If it's not a virus, it could be because of an upgrade that you have mde to either hardware (ram) or software. Try booting into safe mode (Hit F8 key before XP logo appears at poweron) and see if you can get into the OS, if yes, it's a s/w problem. Usually the last thing you installed, try uninstalling it. If that doesn't work, last step would be to re-load your OS (after you backed up all your data).

I got your email. If you did not add any ram or s/w then it's possible that the OS is corrupt or you have a virus. You also indicated that you can't boot the OS to test to see if it's a virus.

    1. Have you tried booting into Safe Mode (F8 at power on)? If you can boot info Safe Mode, then it's a software/driver problem.

    2. Since you're capable of sending an email, I'm gonna assume you have another system available to you. Download the Blaster Virus utility from Symantec and see if it finds anything (put it onto a floppy disc or CD and use a Boot Disk/CD to boot the system)

    3. Try reloading the OS as I suggested previously, but make sure you backup all your data. You can connect your notebook HDD to an external USB cage and transfer all the data to your desktop/other computer. You can also use this method to scan your HDD for viruses.
