    ACER Travelmate 2423 BIOS

    Replaced a hard drive in a Travelmate 2423. I went into BIOS as I wanted to make the cdrom the first boot device. The cdrom is listed at the top (used the f5/f6 keys as directed) but it is greyed out and the hard drive in bold letters has an plus or asterik in front of it. It will not boot from the cdrom even though I told it to exit and save changes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I always advise people who likes to do laptop repairs , to buy an USB Floppy drive , so to deal with operations as formating HDD and Bios recovery.
