    Hi,
my flat mate has an acer aspire 3690, which she thinks has become infected with with spyware and viruses....
On start up when she enters her password, vista loads, the mouse can move, however she cannot open any programs or click on anything!
I have investigated the spyware and virus option to the best ok my limited knowledge, with no real results. The comp runs ok in all safe modes, virus checks done, and spyware investigated!
After saving all her music etc to my external hard dive, she has decided to perform a factory restore.

She did not create the restore dvd's amd i have tried to restore using the Alt f10 options, but i can not get into the restore menu. The only menu i can access is the Bios menu, and a system boot menu using the f2 and f12 buttons.
I have checked and the D2D menu is enabled.

Please help, cause i'm stuck as to what to do or where to go from here....

You can always call ACER and request restore CD's through the mail. It might cost some money but if it's the only option you have then I'd suggest getting the CD's through ACER.
