I've just put a new hard drive into my Acer Travelmate 2451 and i've backed up my PQSERVICE partition from my old hd and put it on my new one. The problem is that when I try to access the eRecovery by pressing Alt+10 at startup it doesn't work. How am I supposed to fix this? The PQSERVICE partition hasn't been modified in any way.

Do you have D2D enabled in the Bios ?
This is required for Acer recovery to work. -
Yes, everything is setup the way it's supposed to be. Alt+F10 still doesn't work.

You may need to partition the rest of the harddrive for the PQService partition to work. The generic setup if 2 partitions both approx 50% of the available drivespace. the first of these should be set to active. Hopefully this will work

If you mean install Windows XP and make the ACER & ACERDATA partitions then I've already done that. Like I said, everything is the way it should be except for the ALT+F10 problem..

To get it working, you could try setting it as active. Then on boot it should run without having to press any buttons at all, although once its finished the recovey then you may have to set the C: partition aactive again to ensure that it does not run again. If this does not work then the data in the pqservice partition is corrupted i'm afraid. Hope this helps

No I don't think it's corrupted because I've unhidden it so that I can see the files on it and it worked. I've even clicked on the exectutable that launches it (the one that pops up when you press ALT+F10). And anyway it's always been marked inactive before so I don't think that will solve it.
