Acer Travelmate 4150 Laptop running XP SP2. error message Monitor - image size error
Received this error after starting a backup using the Acer eRecovery and then hitting the on/off button before the resident Symantec Ghost backup had finished.
After starting the laptop and manually deleting all the Ghost created Brace files on the HDD root, whenever restarting the laptop the error, Monitor Image Size Error was displayed, the error did not cause any problems, all worked okay as before.
The only way I could remove the error message, was to start another backup using the Acer eRecovery facility and waiting for it to finish.
As the eRecovery program is started within windows XP, it needs to reboot itself into Windows 98 DOS and it would seem that a special display driver is installed by the eRecovery Ghost suite of programs, probably to cope with the Ghost display. When Ghost has finished its job and automatically exits, it must reinstate the necessary XP VGA and NVidia display drivers as it waves goodbye.
Hitting the emergency on/off button or power outage whatsoever the cause while backing up with Ghost, will most likely produce the Monitor - image size error message when next rebooting into Windows XP, but it's easily fixed - isn't it ? - Regards Terry
