I have tried to install graphic driver from ATI website but to no avail. It seems that this notebook only accept stock driver that come with it which is outdated already. Is it because Acer uses a customize ATI driver?

The problem doesn't seems to occurs when i try to install graphic driver from ATI website on HP notebook. Everything went just fine.

Can anyone please help me. Thank you in advance.

What is the problem you are having that is not letting the driver install?

Can you download the driver or just not install?

What ATI card do you have?

What reason do you have for upgrading your drivers: Problems with originals or newer games that you want squeeze more FPS out of?

If you have no problems with the original drivers and you don't play newer games, there may be no need to upgrade. Just a thought. :)

I have downloaded the generic driver from ATI website, but i cant install it. But have no problem what i install ATI driver that come with the notebook. I can only wonder whether or not Acer uses customize ATI driver (instead of generic ATI driver form ATI website) for their notebook.

I have installed ATI generic driver from ATI website on CompaQ notebook with no problem.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regard,

I know the problem, you need to download a validation tool before you can download the driver and the Acer fails this, it's not listed on the compatibility list. I have the 5112 with an x1600 and it's the same. Omega drivers will install ok but I think it might have been these that screwed my camera up. You can get 'em at www.omegadrivers.net

Would love to get the Ati drivers installed though, anyone know a way of getting around the validation tool?
