    Hi,

I have an Aspire One AO53h that originally came with Windows 7 Starter. I made the recovery CD's, then wiped it out and put Windows XP Pro on instead. I loaded all of the drivers from Acer's site, and everything works except for FN+F2 to enable/disable wireless, and FN+F5 to switch between the external monitor and the internal screen. Reading on other forums indicates that I need the Acer ePower Management utility. The version on my recover CD's is for Windows 7 and refuses to install. This utility is NOT available on Acer's website.

Does anyone have a copy they could send me or does anyone know where I can get a copy online? Will a copy from another model work? (Might be a moot point, as I couldn't find a copy for another model that was for XP.)

Any help at all is appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi,

seems you need Launch Manager Application (this is the tool that handles the special keys).

I have already installed the launch manager software. That makes some of the other hot keys work, like the keys for turning the touch pad on and off, muting the speaker, etc. However, the hot keys for the wireless and the external screen do not work. If anyone has an early copy of an AO532h and that came with XP and they made their recovery disks, can you please post a copy of the epower utility somewhere? Acer doesn't have it on their web site, and they refuse to respond to my requests for support because my model originally came with Win 7 starter. Thanks!

    which version exactly?
Acer support website is listing Ver 2.0.1.218 for XP.

A "power management" application is not offered for this netbook. Apart from that, these applications only add custom power plans. No hotkey definitions.
At least for the screen switching, you might additionally check the settings of your VGA driver. Perhaps that hotkey needs to be defined there (which I doubt).

Sorry for posting here at this old topic, but I have the same problem like user that starts this topic- zelbinion. I have the same AO532h and after format HDD without making backup - big mistake and instal fresh windows 7 starter 32bit with necessary drivers and applications from acer website for AO532h, but only Fn-F2 soft key do not work... So I need English backup from AO532h user - no other way to make Fn-F2 to work. Can somebody like zelbinion help me?
