I was considering getting Acer AS1810T-8638. However, I looked up keyboard layout, some pictures show back-slash (\) not above enter key, but next to left shift key. (left shift key's length is shortened by half)
Some other pictures show it at where it should be (above enter key).

Since I use back-slash a lot, I need it to be at the right place.

Can anyone who bought this model tell me where is key is located on models being shipped currently?

You'll mainly see this on the Canadian billingual keyboards. I have that keyboard but have since replaced it with a US International keyboard.

Does this mean if I buy in the US, I will have regular layout with back-slash above enter key?

Yes, I have the 1810T (just received today) in the U.S. and I can confirm that the back-slash is nicely tucked above the enter key.

Mikroft: Where did you get the US keyboard, and was it difficult to replace?

    Thanks,
    Ron

The keyboard is 20 bucks and here on Ebay. It is a 3 minute switch and very simple. Shipping took not even 2 weeks.

If you look at the top of the keyboard you will see 4 tabs. Carefully push each in and the keyboard will start to free itself and lift up.

Once they are all released, slide a credit card under the middle and lift. The keyboard may bow a bit but it will release the two side tabs.

From there slide upwards and the bottom tabs will slide free.

When u look behind, you will see the ribbon where it goes into the board and around it is a clip. Gently lift the clip with the credit card, pull out the ribbon, reseat the new once and puch the clip down.

Slip the bottom of the new keybard in at the bottom and simply press all around to set the 2 side and 4 top clips.

    It is VERY easy.
