    AS6930-6941 Tiger Direct

    Looking at getting this laptop currently listed as $699.99 problem I am having is confirming if this has DVD and CD writer capability and also if it has a USB/eSata shared port as it shows in the pictures. Has anyone here bought this computer or know someone who has that can verify? I have tried asking but reps are only going to repeat what is on the site which is being conflicted by pictures shown vs specs listed.

    Now this is a scary question. I just bought this Notebook on eBay, and assumed the drive was a Blu-Ray player/DVD-RW/CD-RW Burner combo. And all the documents seem to be unclear between all the different configurations.

    In the User manual it does warn about models without CD burners need to use a external burner. But the picture on the quick install guide shows the logos on the side of the drive door which shows that it is a Blu Ray/Multi Recorder drive.


    EDIT: The personal I bought the notebook from comfirms is it a Blu-Ray/Multi Recorder drive. I can double confirm when I get it on Saturday.

    The 6930-6941 definitely has a blu-ray and multi burner drive as well as 4 usb ports with 1 being esata shared. Also mine has the connection for the 2nd hard drive but the bay cover has to plastic prongs that prevent a 2nd hard drive from being installed. I found a place that sells the correct hard drive cover and caddy and if you are interested just post and let me know and I will pass along the name of the company. It took me a month just to find them.

    Does it have Bluetooth?
    And how does the SPDIF port work? Is it a mini optical/toslink port?

    I don't plan on adding a 2nd hard drive but just for the sake of knowing, where would I find the accessories to do so?

    No it does not have bluetooth. I am using a dongle I got but I have found the bluetooth part on ebay but it looks as if it requires part of the laptop to be taken apart not ready to do that just yet. If memory serves me it does have an open pci port on it though I did not inspect very carefully. The software that comes with it has bluetooth option just no part inside which is a pity that would have made the laptop absolutely insane for what I paid.

    No bluetooth with this version according to them.
