I recently bought an Acer Aspire 6935 and I'm very happy with the performance. I formatted the hard drive and installed vista x64. Now my laptop frequently overheats and then shuts down automatically. I just read that it might have someting to do with the epower management module, which I don't have anymore (after format). I can't find any downloads for my model; any help would be appreciated.

I doubt that missing ePower Managment cause the overheat...anyway you can download it from here.

Thanks for the reply but I can't find the epower management link, it should be in the drop-down box of Empowering Technology, right? I'm using vista x64. Maybe I'm blind because I don't see it.

Yeah I cannot find it now either but I'm sure it was there when I looked for it..Now I cannot find ANY 64bit version.

This sucks. I read somewhere that proper fan management came from the acer epower thing, and I have to admit, ever since I've reinstalled vista it's been doing this (I think 5 times in total, in about 2 weeks). I didn't have the problem when using the vista that came with the laptop :/

As far as i'm aware, through reading other topics and a little research, the fan inside the laptop is controlled at bios level, the epower managment module won't control the fan inside your laptop. If you are having issue with the laptop shutting down due to heat, it may be a hardware issue that needs investigating further. Maybe the fan has is starting to fail.
Also, I don't think there is any way to control the settings of the fan, there is no option for this in the bios. -
I've seen this topic and registered to the website just now to help you all.
I've also reinstalled Vista, choosing also a 64 bits version in place of the ACER Vista Home Premium 32 bits. It was not easy to get all drivers, but it's running very well now. For those who doesn't have the latest version of ACER Empowering Technology compatible with Vista 64 bits, I've made a RAR folder which contains the following tools :
- Empowering Technology Framework (to install first)
- eAudio Management
- ePower Management
- eSettings Management
The other eTools wasn't really usefull
- LaunchManager_Dritek_Kilimanjaro2_v2.0.0.2 (to configure the eButton) Once installed, launch the program for configuration to point to Empowering Technology ".exe" in the program directory
Unfortunately, as it's my first post, I can't make any link to download the fileThe condition of 15 posts is quite stupid a bit...

Finally got my 15th message, I'm now able to help

Up, for those in need

Do you have any power related error messages in the system event logs?
When I was playing with different cpus on a 5315 some combinations needed a fresh install of Vista to work properly - there was always some kind of error message about power management/cpu firmware incompatibility in the event logs generated at windows boot time. (I know you're not swapping cpus but checking the event logs could rule out a BIOS:OS:cpu power management incompatibility) -

Darika, you just made my day, and then some.
I had been looking all over for this. Thank you so much for posting this. It works flawlessly! -
Hi All,
I have the same laptopa and I do not use ePower Management at all. I installed only eAudio Management and eSettings Management. Actually I do not have any problems with temperature. Some time back I had HP laptop with Vista and HP does not provide any software for Power Management, so I do not think it is needed at all.

YES, That is right, You have quick access to the most important functions.

I, at one stage, uninstalled ePower Management. Just to see. A day later I re-installed it again.
Still using it to this day with zero complications or regrets.
Cheers,

does anyone have the AS 6935G launch manager and empowering technology download link for win7 32bit? thanks
-
The ones for Vista 32 bit SHOULD work. Not guaranteed, but they should. May need to run in compat mode, but they will probably work just fine.

ratchetnclank Notebook Deity
Launch manager and ET for vista should work on Win7 since its the same kernel.
Empowering technology is crapware anyway and your better off without it.
Launch manager is needed though lol -
It is very useful also for the audio management as you can really get better sound quality than using the settings from Realtek. There's a big difference, I've tested it. -
AS6935 gets hot, epower management?
