Seem that the soon available in canada/usa ASPIRE 1690 models will come with intergrated grap cards instead of x600/700 ATI (like acer europe/asia models).

What a strategy form acer panam !! Any idea why ?

In Canada the as1694WLMi will have the following specs. I'm getting on this week or next week. My whole seller has not even got them in stock until Wednesday, I'll be one of the first to get one.

    Specs:
    AS1694WLMI-XPH CENT 1.87/1GB DDR2/100GB, Aspire 1694WLMi-XPH, Intel
    Centrino Mobile Tech 750 1.87GHz, 1GB RAM DDR2, 100 GB HD (4200RPM),
DVD-Dual (DL), 15.4 inch WXGA Acer Crystal Bright, ATI-X600 64MB,
    802.11b/g, Win XP Home

Only if bluetooth and Linux came with it.

I do a review once I get it.

More system memory, DDR2, slower cpu, less gpu mem. Not a good trade IMO since its easy to upgrade while unless your OHP, your not going to upgrade GFX mem[ :D]

Hey danbrow, how much does the thing cost? I've been looking at different laptops (including the N3510 and different offerings from Dell and HP) and the Aspire 1694WLMI looks like a good buy.

edit: Nevermind. Just did a quick search and found out it costs $1907. Not a bad price. Too bad it's out of stock. Any idea when it's going to be readily available everywhere in Canada?
