hi, i have an aspire 5100, and it has a big problem. >< it has an integrated microphone built - in. but it is not working well at all. i have to be in like almost kissing distance in order to make it to work, and the recorded sound is like a distorted female computer voice. so i thought the built-in mic has a problem, but then i tried a working microphone, and i connected it to my laptop, the recorded voice is still a distorted female computer voice the only difference was the built in microphone was much softer. is anyone also having the same problem as me? only im the only unlucky one, i've has some issues with this laptop earlier, but when i bought it, i jux never tried the mic until now. So please give me some useful advises. i've already tried a lot of volume and the micrrophone boost and stuffs. plz help me... thank you for everything.

Mine is very low, but I dont use it so I could care less.
The little bit I do, my external mic works fine.

Have you tried putting all the bars in the volume control, near the time, to full. Sometimes, the default is very low, and it needs to be upped. Also, have a look in the software for the sound. I am not sure what you have, but there should be some options for the microphone.

most applications have voice enhancing features that boost the voice volume. For example Skype and Sightspeed both enhance voice quality. the few times I've video chatted, the other person heard me just fine with good voice quality.

Maybe this is only microfon boost problem,
did you enable this fucntion on Advanced Optoin of your mic ( you have to enable Advanced drivers and then enable microfon boost) ??
    I think this should help ..... :)
