    3dmarks with Catalyst 6.12

    '05
(i forget to take a shot, but it was 2497 if not mistaken)

I installed it 2 days ago.
    I haven't used it unplugged.
So far (plugged) so good and stable. :)

There's no increase in 3dmark '05, but in 3dmark '06' it had 200++ marks increase.
    I suppose, Catalyst 6.12 increase SM3 performance.

    (real game experience)

I've been playing NFS most wanted and carbon.
When i used stock driver, both games can only run smoothly at 800x600 max details / 1024x768 medium details.

Using catalyst 6.12, i can play carbon at max res. and max. detail.
But i can't do that with NFS most wanted. :(

UPDATE (with 6.12 Acer Aspire 5112):
I can play CS:episode1 @ max res. and max. detail smoothly.
I can play GTA San Andreas @ max widescreen res w/ a little bit decreased details smoothly.
C&C Generals/zero hour will run incredibly smooth @ everything maxed.

    Conclusion:
No significant change with SM2 performance (3d'05, NFS most wanted)
Catalyst 6.12 increases SM3 performance (3d'06, NFS carbon)

Haven't test it on media use yet :p

I am still runing on Catalyst ver. 1.2 and I have no problems but I plan to update because it's good to know that this driver will improve graphich performance a bit.
Do you know where I can download this older Catalyst version 1.2 that I have in case I have some problems with this new driver?I also have Aspire 5112 WLMi but I have ATI X1300 128 mb,512 mb,80 GB...

Use windows system restore first BEFORE you uninstall the old driver and install the new one.

Well, i forgot to mention that it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to get 4000 3d05marks :(

    Acer Aspire's 5112's x1600 is running on 64bit bandwidth (which common x1600 runs on 128bit) :( And it's basically 128mb (512mb hypermem)
    This is why i can't.
With safe overclock, maybe you can get -/+ 2700 3d05marks :p

I still bought this laptop even i knew about this case.
It was the best deal for me 2.5 months ago
