Wierd that your scores are not higher with the I7-640M and the clocks that you have on your GPU. Hendrickson and OC Freak both went over $10K with an OC'd I5 and GPU clocks well below yours. 3DM06 is sensitive to CPU power. It would be interesting to see you duplicate the benchmarks that Hendrickson ran on the first page of the 3820TG thread. You should see a significant increase in frames for 2 reasons (1) your GPU OC is significantly higher than any I've seen (you obviously have an exceptional one or the I7 helps keep the gpu stable enough to OC higher) and any raw advantage of the I7 will be obvious if it exists.

    Have no idea..
I get 7540p with everything stock and with win7 ultimate x64

Just made a fresh install of win 7, we´ll see what I get with 780/1100..
I don´t think that the I7 is so much better than I5..

    Made a duplicate of Hendrickson´s bench (680/1065)..
    Scored: 9282p
    167p difference....

    My score:
    SM2.0 Score: 3301.0
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4238.0
    CPU Score: 3421.0

    Hendrickson´s score:

    SM2.0 Score: 3466
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4350
    CPU Score: 2643

Somethings wrong with my SM2.0 score.. don´t now what it is.. with 790/1100 i only get 9544p :s

My recollection is that he was the first to break 10K in 3DM06 but that was only after he OC'd his I5-450M.

Speaking of OCing CPUs, how come I was only able to open the freeware setFSB once before it starts asking me for money?

My highest score so far: Result

is there any way of logging the cpu speed when running 3dmark?

Kinnda cool that my gpu core only goes up to +64C when running 780/1110 in 3dmark ;)

Is there any way of increase the voltage??

That is the shareware version; not the freeware version. The freeware version is a much older version and should not have the popup asking for money.

    I scored 7763 @ 650/900MHz. Default clocks gave me around 1k less.

Yeah, on the setFSB page, there is a shareware version and a freeware version. I downloaded the freeware version. Opened it once and it had all the interface and buttons etc. Opened it a second time and it pops up a small window asking for activation code. Maybe the creator is trying to squeeze/scam money from people who can already overclock with the freeware version setFSB?

Hmm, I noticed that the resolution was also 1024x768. Is that the resolution of the screen? You should also run throttle stop and see if your CPU is TDP/TDC unlocked. If it is you can expect a bigger boost in your scores, both CPU and GPU since the GPU scales with the CPU in 3DMark06.

If you don't put the code in, it will still run. It just won't give you access to the shareware clockgens. For instance, the Asus clockgen did not work on my Acer (PLL error) until I had the shareware version. I find the creator of SetFSB to be very accessible and I think the contribution (esp when it was still 500 yen) to be very reasonable, considering what you get. I've got the little Z540 Atom in my HP Slate running at 2.25ghz due to SetFSB. It is a great improvement in this $800 slate for $5. I can't even buy a screen protector for my slate for under $20.

I was considering paying him if I already got somewhere with the freeware, but this is outrageous. No, if I click "ok" without inputting anything, a window popups saying that it is a shareware and I need to wire him money, then nothing.

Got 5820TG a few days now, tried 660/1050 and it looks stable and got 90xx in 06.
Would you tell me how to make those clocks boot on startup or at a certain power plan?

Moreover, how would I know if I can overclock it if I can't even get to the getFSB screen now? Don't you guys who paid for setFSB need to take a ss at the getFSB results and send it to the creator before he gives you the activation code?
