Does not work
Update: It works now after applying these useful instructions:
-
Acceleration is only available for H.264 encoded Flash video, which for YouTube means HQ, 720p, and 1080p videos. Standard resolution/quality videos are not accelerated.
YouTube has recently started to support 1080p video, below are a few test vids you can try. Only a few YouTube videos are currently available in 1080p format, and you have to add " &fmt=37" to the request URL to make the player load the 1080p version of the video.
You can verify it's playing the 1080p version by the "video info" right-click menu option. If no "video info" option is available, and the player's lower right hand "HD" icon is highlighted red, and " &fmt=37" is appended to the URL, then this also means the video is playing in 1080p mode.

these are the intel drivers according to the release notes. -
If someone has installed the latest drivers, please post which BIOS version it shows in control panel. I have the feeling that my drivers installation went wrong somehow. I removed and reinstalled to no avail. My video BIOS is 1800, but there is a new BIOS file in the drivers archive called 1918.

Ive tried those 1080p YouTube videos and my CPU usage hovers around 60% on SU 4100 dual core. I'm using Win 7 and with latest MPC Home Video, CPU usage will be around 30% when playing 1080p videos so i guess Adobe Flash is not working.
-
It's supposed to work inside the browser with the latest drivers. Playing a downloaded vid with MPC is a different story.

Model (Device/CPU) : Acer 1810T-8638 / SU7300 Dual Core 1.3 Ghz CPU
System BIOS: v0.3120 (latest)
Graphics BIOS: v1800.0
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64
Graphics Drivers: Intel graphic drivers v8.15.10.1986 64bit (link from above user sharaktengu/Flash 10.1 release notes, dated November 3rd 2009)
Browsers: Google Chrome v3.0.195.33, Mozilla Firefox v3.5.5, and Microsoft Internet Explorer v8.0.7600.16385
Test Video: Dark Knight 1080p YouTube Trailer
Results:
I first removed the previous versions of Flash player to make sure the right version was running. I tested before and after installing Flash 10.1 and the new Intel Graphics Drivers dated November 3rd. I installed both the plugin and Active-X (Internet Explorer) Flash 10.1 plugins.
Flash 10.0 with old Intel graphics drivers:
85-99% CPU usage in full screen (Chrome)
Flash 10.1 with old Intel graphics drivers:
85-99% CPU usage in full screen (Chrome)
Flash 10.1 with new Intel graphics drivers:
30-60% CPU usage in full screen (Chrome)
35-45% CPU usage windowed (Firefox)
35-45% CPU usage windowed (Internet Explorer)
On first run testing in Internet Explorer the CPU would spike up high in the 70-80% and the sound cut out, restarting the browser fixed it.
Conclusion:
After installing the new Intel graphic drivers, it seems to be working fine. This is defiantly a test release as I had a few times where the browser needed a restart because of sound loss. -

I got the latest intel GM drivers and with the prerelease everything is working smoothly.
Do we get a pre-release for the Mozilla Browser too? I had to preform the tests with IE
Nevertheless nice upgrade cheers! -
Thx. The Win7 Upgrade DVD is lying on my desk since a while, but I don't have time to backup and install right now. After a 12h workday there is not enough patience left for that kind of stuff
-
Yes, on the 10.1 download page the link labeled Active-X is for Microsoft Internet Explorer, the link labeled plug-in is for browsers that support Mozilla based plugins (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc..)
-
Hehe believe me it`s worth it, i guess you already know that
How come your 1810T came with Vista though and not Win 7? I thought the new ones came out the day Win 7 became available.
Nevermind, if you notice the differences between the two photos, my version of DirectX is 11 and yous is 10. Some other things are different too!
I downloaded both, but the Dark Knight video for example was smooth as silk with IE and choppy with Mozilla. Weird -
You can verify the version of Flash running/installed by right clicking on any Flash media and choosing "About Adobe Flash Player", it should open up a web page that reports your currently running Flash version in a section labeled "Version Information" on the middle right of the web page.
Try restarting the web browser to see if that helps. -
I've got the older su3500 version I bought over two and a half months ago, which shipped with Vista
-
Great issue solved. The first time actually, after uninstalling the old version the new one didn`t get installed , but now that i did an "overwrite" everything is working smoothly with Firefox too
Awesome update.. again
-
Woooot!
It works now
Thanks to "Junior" from Netbooknews.de comments, who posted this:
-
Good work! +1! 10.1 Flash and new Intel drivers seem to do the trick. Awesome.
-
Kudos to Adobe!
Below 50% CPU usage on my little su3500. Smooth as butter! Rock&Roll, Baby!
-
According to the Flash 10.1 release notes document that step is only possibly needed on NVIDIA ION (MCP79) and GeForce 8400GS (G98) GPUs.
-
Awesome news for everyone.
Now about the DXVA acceleration with KM Player i found this interesting link:

Funny thing it did the trick

ff 3.5.5
gpu 1986/1800
doesnt work for me.. damn
ie works fine, but the browser is completely freezing during playback, cpu around 40-45%
dark knight video -
der_magus, try the trick I posted in the update of the first post
Edit:
Thinking about it, I played around with the Flash settings before I applied that clear history stuff(hardware acceleration was disabled before) maybe it was rather that, what cured the problem. It's best to check if hardware acceleration is anabled by right clicking on the video. After enabling hardware acceleration that particular tab has to be closed and the video has to be opened again. -
The Flash 10 upgrade has been sitting in Ubuntu repository as a proposed update for a few weeks now, but they haven't released it yet due to a bug. I might try it anyway. I wonder what it's going to break? LOL
-
of course i did that before....
the only think it helped for, was loosing all history -
Same specs as Talynone with the same results. Nice to have the CPU not work so hard for video.
-
Picture quality of HD videos looks reduced when GPU acceleration is on... Seems like resize smoothing isn't working. -- I've tried all the tricks from the front page. It looks like there's GPU off-loading but the PQ is horrible...

Flash Player 10.1 (Beta) GPU Acceleration *OFF*
Flash Player 10.1 (Beta) GPU Acceleration *ON*

I see the same thing with the Up Trailer. I've also noticed that the colors differ somewhat. Another thing I've noticed with the Up trailer is that when I show it on my Tv in 1920x1080 I'm getting frame drops at certain fast moving scenes. The CPU load is never above 60 % but I suspect that the GPU and possibly the memory interface is getting pushed above it's limits. But if I disabled Aero in Win7 I don't experience the frame drops anymore. Anyone know if there is a way of seeing the GPU load and X4500 frequency? GPU-Z does not show the GPU load and only displays the default frequency of 475 MHz. I guess it will throttle the frequency to 533 when running H.264 acceleration?
-
GPU-Z' info is wrong. The GPU is running at 320MHz.
-
SU 3500
win7
firefox 3.5.5
gpu 1986
Works great, except Dark Knight. It wasn`t smooth like the other trailers posted in the first page. The CPU load was between 45-60%. -
Bump to say 10.1 Beta 2 is now available which fixes he pixelated scaling problem.
-
Yeah. Pixelation seems to be fixed; however 1080P content is no longer smooth for me
Cheers,
Kermee -
Dito, tried the Dark Knight video, no more smooth for me too
-
third'd video is laggy now
-
Same here, laggy.
What actually happened ?
Accelerated Flash on 1410/1810T(Z), does it work for you?
