I'm helping a friend setup their new Acer 1410

The first thing I did was do a clean install of Windows 7 (it came preinstalled with Windows 7)

I'm wondering if I need to install ePower Management to achieve the advertised battery life?

ePower Management doesn't work with windows 7, just use the built in power saving options.

there's a thread in the "Windows 7" section of this forum that provides a (legal) link to it

The only way to get a true account of your battery life is to measure it yourself, while doing everyday tasks.

A little off topic, but is it possible to use the legal Windows 7 download links in the thread you posted with the Acer OEM keys found in the clean install of Windows 7 thread?

The system didn't come with OEM keys, so I had activate by phone
but other than that, everything worked fine
