I have the Aspire 1410 -2285 with Windows 7 and the Celeron SU2300 Processor. The AC power supply clearly shows the specifications as 19 volt, 1.58, amp, 30 watt. I want to purchase another adapter but everywhere I search lists the adapter for the 1410 as 19 volt 3.42 amp and 65 watt. This include Amazon. Can I use this AC adapter with this computer. If not, why do so many sites list it as compatible.

I have a LT3103u and with the larger 60w power addapter I was hoping these batteries would charge faster but they didn't. With these, 1410's and 1810's, does the larger addapter equate to a faster charge rate?

I use the iGo system of chargers for laptops and other gear and I'm looking for the tip that would work best (iGo doesn't have the 1410 tip).

My machine is similar to OPs, 1410, SU2300 (1410-2801 specifically). The charger that I got w/ the machine is the 30W 19V 1.58A charger. On the Acer website, they list a 65W charger for the 1410, so I'm getting really confused on what I would need in terms of matching the tip to the adapter. Help anyone?

    TIA.

The Aspire One's power adapter has the exact specs. I wonder if that one can be used. They go for cheap on Ebay.

The confusion is caused by Acer's use of 1410 for two completely different laptop product lines. The old 1410 is a 15.4" laptop that needs the 65w AC adapter. Our 1410 is the 11.6" that specs the 30w AC adapter which is the same as used by the Aspire One netbooks.

I am also looking for a second AC adapter. However, I want one that is ungrounded - meaning it has 2-prong plug. The one that comes with the 1410-2285 has a 3-prong plug which is sometimes a problem when I travel.

the 3810, 4810, and 5810 models use a "green" adapter (little leaf on the side) that has a 3rd input pin to enable the charger.

The "green" adapter will only work with those models that originally came with it.

However, you can use a non "green" adapter on a 3810/4810/5810.

found this out the hard way...

Have you been able to find another adapter? I'm looking for something like this for travel:

    http://www.overstock.com/Electronic...-AC-Adapter-Wall-Charger/4032567/product.html

Something that's a bit smaller, lower profile. The Aspire One chargers have the same specs (19V, 1.58A, 30W). Does anyone have any experience with these one piece adapters and if so, any thoughts on where to buy? I see them in several places through Google searches and on eBay, but I'm not sure of the quality, the store, etc.

    Thanks.

I think I posted this in another thread a while back but I've been using a couple of these for several months now with no problems. They are slightly smaller with slightly shorter cables than the original Acer but have had no problems whatsoever.

Edit:I just realized the URL has a 40w in it but the adapter is definitely 30W with the same specs as the Aspire One which seems to have the exact same adapter as the 1410/1810.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. The Amazon description shows that it's made by Dell, so I'm assuming that the build quality is decent. The last thing I'd want is to have it fall apart on me while I'm on the road (it's happened with phone chargers before, it's not a fun thing).

    Thanks.
