Nice little mod! I always worry about these power connectors failing. Does anyone know if the 1410 is particularly susceptible to breaking or failing? Any negative history so far?

well after about 3 months of solid use my adaptor port was getting kinda wiggly, and i've seen them go from wiggly to broken very quickly so i decided it was time to figure something out, my ex's laptop broke at her power port and they wanted like $700 to fix it because it was a motherboard issue. personally this was easy enough to do that i will probably do it to any laptop i buy from now on.

also just wanted to say that i have updated the instructable since i originally posted it. i changed the material i used for wrapping the adaptor plug as well as the port insert from aluminum tape to Copper Foil due to heat issues with the aluminum tape.

i encourage others to consider this mod as it will definately extend the life of your laptop and everyone knows that prevention is better than trying to fix something that is already broken.
