This thread is to share your experiences with sleeves, bags and cases suited for Acer 1410, 1810 and 1830 and all other Acer 11.6" models.

    What bag do you use?

I'm looking for a neoprene sleeve for the 1830. Any suggestions?

Zeroshock III by Elecom for 10.1" notebooks fits my 1830t perfectly. This case is very protective; great overall.

I used this one for my Acer 1810T.

At $4.41 it's probably the cheapest one can get. It's not pretty but it those the job. Mine fit perfectly, but I have heard of one person who it didn't fit with.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I bought this one and am sorry to say it is just too small. Three quarters of an inch bigger in length and width and it would be perfect. Even half an inch would be doable, but as it is, it is just too small. I might be able to close the zip but it would be scratching the plastic of the laptop and I am not even sure I could get it to zip up. Shame, as it is a nice cheap, practical solution. Looks good and has a pocket too. I refuse to pay $30 for one in Best Buy. If some guy on Ebay can make it and ship it to me from China by mail for seven dollars, then $30 is just insulting. Of course if anyone has a 10.1 inch netboook and needs a sleeve...

Thanks for sharing slamtry. You might want to try the one I linked too on Dealextreme. I fitted my 1810T perfectly.

The Microsoft zippered neoprene sleeve is perfect for my 1410. Cheap and it has handles. I use it as added padding in my bug out bag from Maxpedition.

i got a slightly larger one (10.6" - 11.1", i believe) and it's just a bit too big for the acer travelmate 8172. there's no slipping or sliding, but there's excess space inside, so it's not a snug fit. not that big a deal, though.

I've bought a sleeve now, the Icidu 10 inch sleeve.

Costs 10 euros and it's a perfect fit for the 1830T. The quality is above dealextreme standards.

I got the following for my 1830T.

Amazon.com: Targus Neoprene Slipskin Peel Netbook Slip Case with Accessory Pocket Designed to Protect up to 12-Inch Widescreen Netbooks TSS125US (Black with Yellow): Gateway

Pretty nice, cant complain at all. There is even a little bit of room in it so I don't have to stuff it in hard.

Edit: On a side note, I carried it for awhile in my normal Laptop/School bag... but the bezel started getting all scratched up (assuming from the pressure of the books and bag) so I had to get something secondary to keep it from getting more scratched up, I hate that damn glossy bezel.

I got a free Acer-logo'd black computer bag from the sales guy when I purchased my Acer Travelmate 8172:

The computer is held firmly with a velcro strap. There's a velcro partitioner that would secure a narrower computer, like a netbook.

It has two main compartments in the zippered section (one for the computer), one pocket for papers in there, too. A compartment on each side on the outside, as well.

He also threw in a Kingston 4GB thumb drive, a bottle of cleaning fluid, a membrane keyboard cover, and a wired optical mouse. Nice fellow, he was. :D

I've not been able to find the item on any Acer site, so maybe it's a "knock off," but it seems well made.

I am considering buying the 8.9-10.2 zeroshock IV, do you think it will also fit? I read on some site it is only 19cm in depth while the Zeroshock 3 is 20.

I have some doubts about that. I own the 12.1" version of that case, and there is even space for the PSU and cable besides my 1810.

Just to confirm...the elecom Zeroshock III 8.9-10.2 inch case DOES NOT fit the 1830T perfectly at all. (I have a 6 cell battery)

Don't know where fatpolomanjr got his information, but it doesn't fit, very close but can't zip it up, slightly sticks out.

Proves where reading advice from a forum gets you. LOL

Looking at the brand STM at the moment. Need to wait till my laptop arrives to confirm which one though..
    STM Vertical Small
    STM Alley Small
    STM Jacket Small

Leaning towards the Jacket Small currently (I won't be filling my laptop bag with a heap of other crap like the website pics show), so see how it goes. :D

I confirm that as well. I bought the Zeroshock III 8.9-10.2 inch case based on fatpolomanjr's post.

Anybody know how the 10.6-11.1 inch case fits?

Check the dimensions and compare them with those of your own laptop:

Simply compare the physical dimensions of your laptop with the (inner) sizes stated by the manufacturers of the case you like :D

See post #26 for Zeroshock cases.

I just purchased the 10.6-11.1 inch case and it fits my 1830T perfectly.
