I have been using the mentioned model for about 2 months.
However I found that the wide screen is somehow too "wide".
I feel the screen brightness is not even across the screen if not viewed directly at the middle.

The contrast is also an issue where, light yellow and light red have no difference as white.

My question is, will it helps if I use a thin film screen filter?

There could be a problem with the advanced display settings in Display Properties. You may be able to change the contrast/brightness settings. If that's not the problem, it could also be the screen that is defective. You may want to contact Acer for possible repair.
