    hi there, i have always been lurking and benefitting from this sight, and I am now seeking help from the experts here..

    i am getting the following error message;

    Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: backslashWINDOWS backslash system32 backslash config backslash SYSTEM

    You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.
    Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair

    Initially i was able to boot in safe mode, transfered all necessary docs to D drive, and then tried to boot in safe WITH networking but no luck.

    i then attempted to reload last safe config, no luck.

    reloaded Widows via internal drive, no luck.

    now i cant even boot in safe mode, and cannot find the original cds, so am at a bit of a loss..

    would appreciate any help from you guys, i feel helpless without accessing my laptop, AND most importantly I have no access to my D drive files..

    ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    Sounds like a pretty messy situation, unfortunately you can't do much without the install CDs....I suggest you try and find them otherwise you will need to contact Acer and get a new set, and lol I wish you good luck doing so.

    If there are files you can't live without you can bring the computer to a technician and they can scan some/most off the hard drive but it will cost quite a bit.
