This is very important! I have bought and received acer 1682, but i'm not sure is its battery 8 cell or 4 cell. If I used the notebook to test the battery life and find out it's only 4 cell, I can't return it.
So I am asking that is it possible to see from the battery that is the notebook included with 4 cell or 8 cell battery.
    Please help me!

I guess there's a couple ways to check for the battery type:

    1. Compare the P/N's for an 8 cell and 4 cell batteries (if you know them)

    2. Look for the mAh rating on the battery, if it says 4400 (approx), then it's an 8 cell, if it's 2200 (approx) then it's only a 4 cell.

You may want to send an email to Acer and see what they have to say about the battery in your specific model (include country of purchase as this also is taken into account). If they say it's 8 cell and you then verify it's not, you have it in writing that they misinformed you of the specs and you want them to make good on their claims, otherwise it's false advertising. There was a huge fiasco regarding the HDD speed on an Travelmate 3201XCi. They said it was 5400rpm, but turned out to be 4200rpm, so they replaced the HDD's for the users who caught on and complained.

It depends on the region... my 1683 came with a 8 cell.
