Hi, this is my first post ever. I bought an acer 1692 with the 1Gb ddr2 spec. for less than two weeks.

I properly configured it, than the next day, a vertical green band appeared on-screen. I went to the shop and it was immediately replaced by a new one.

The second laptop had a problem with the dvd drive which i was able to correct by updating the firmware.

Now, i was quietly watching a DVD and it got stuck inside the drive!!!!

This is a slot drive and there's no way to get it out!!

Has anyone had these many troubles with this model?
Should i try and get it replaced by someother model?

Hm, I've heard of this happening before. Take it back to the shop where you got it and have them get it out - it is not something you should fool with.
