    Hey everyone,

When I first saw the laptop I was amazed to see how many good
things I'm getting included in the package: 1gb ram, X700 256MB,
1.7 processor, 80gb hd, wifi, bt, ir, and more...

The price is a bit high for me - about $1700.
I'm wondering if to go for this laptop cause I want to buy something
for the future - for the long run, and if this laptop is a recommendation then I'll invest a few hundred bucks more and get it.

As I see it, I either buy something as best as I can get (which as
far as I've seen it's this laptop- 1692) or something in the very low-budget area like the following HP:

    HP DV5084
    Mobile AMD Turion 64 2Ghz 1Mb Cache
    512Mb ram 333 DDR (up to 2gb)
    Display 15.4 1280x800
ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M IGP 128MB Dedicated
    80GB 4200RPM IDE
    DVD-R
Card reader, wifi, ethernet + all the ususal ports
    Weight is 2.9kg

I would like to have your opinion on the Acer 1692 laptop for the
long run- like the build quality, the parts relaiability, battery life-time
    and more...

    Thanks.
