    Hi guys,

I've just installed win xp 32bit on my 1810t.
Downloaded the latest drivers from acer.com and everything works fine - except the wlan.

My first problem was that I didn't knew if I have an Atheros or Intel chip.
Since it is a Centrino notebook I guessed It's an Intel. So I downloaded the totally bloated driver package (almost for 200 mb for a driver and some tools is crazy, even if it is for different os'es) and installed it.
I've only installed the driver without software.
After the installation, the system manager still shows up an unrecognized network controller.

Second try was to use the Atheros driver, but the setup explains about missing hardware when I start it.

Next try was to install the WiMax driver, also without success.

And last, I installed the intel driver again, this time with software.
After that the Intel software is in the traybar and says "no driver installed".

Maybe I missed something really silly, can't be so hard to install a wlan card.
Hope somebody has a hint for me how to get this running.

    Thank you very much,
    best greets
    ben

The build in chip is an Intel WiFi Link 5100.
I just downloaded drivers for this one (4,5 mb vs. 200...) from somewhere else and they work instant.

I'm wondering what's Acer offering on their download page?
