Hey ive had this Acer for quite a while, and just recently when i closed the lid i heard a small creeking sound. I checked the back and it seems the hinge has gotten messed up somehow (See attached picture) This has only happen to the right side. but i have no idea how to fix it. I cannot close the screen without that gray part popping out

Any ideas on how to fix this? even temporarly?

p.s DSC01360 is the left hinge. How it should be.

If I remember correctly, the hinge is part of a bracket that attaches to the uppercase. This is a pretty old unit, you might have some issues finding parts.
