Hey all, I don't know if this is the right place for this but I'm hoping someone might know how to help me out!

The 2012WLMi comes with a Mat****a/Panasonic UJ-820S DVD-RAM/CDRW drive. Now, I rather stupidly changed my region settings under the impression that I would just be able to use a region free player at a later date. But it seems my drive is RPC2...a seemingly unbeatable hardware form of region encoding. I'm now stuck in Region 1 (I do not live in America). I've been told I need to somehow get my drive to an RPC1 state by means of firmware? At the very least I know I'd like to just get the thing back to Region 2 so if I sell this laptop I can at least advertise it as being able to play DVDs!

I know this region free stuff probably constitutes hacking, but I refuse to believe that my hardware is now irrepairably CRIPPLED simply because I wanted to be able to watch legitimatly purchased DVD's from England, and America (which cannot be bought in this country).

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but any help or links or anything would be great thanks.
