    Hi Acer-Heads,
I see the 2303LCI advertised online down in the $800 range currently, and I was wondering how cool and quiet the unit is. I've seen a 292ELCi and a 4001WLCi up close, and my impression was the 4001 felt quite warm under my hands, while the 292 ran nice and cool.
Does anybody have any experience with the 2303, and how it would compare to the other Acers mentioned?
    Thanks,
    Steve

The 2303LCi has a Celeron M CPU that runs at 1.3Ghz or 1.5Ghz. These CPU's are generally Pentium M CPU's with 50%-75% of the Cache disabled including some of the power management. This CPU should operate at about the same as a Pentium M CPU. It uses a bit more power but is lower in speed to off-balance the heat gain.

The 292 feeling cooler was probably because the 4001 runs at a faster CPU speed, therefore heating up a bit more.

Getting this unit, you have to think if getting Celeron M notebook is what you want to do. Not only that, do you want a unit with shared video memory?
